Authentic North is a Tromsø-based tour company that runs its own buses with local drivers. We charter a 16-seat Mercedes Sprinter minibus, a 9-seat minivan and a coach for larger groups, always with a driver who knows Arctic roads in every season.

How much does it cost to charter a bus in Tromsø?

What is included in a bus charter?
Every charter includes the vehicle and a local driver. Your written quote lists exactly what else is included for your route — for example ferries, tolls, waiting time or driver accommodation on multi-day trips.
What is your cancellation policy?

Can we chase the northern lights with a chartered bus?
Yes. The driver follows the clearest skies on safe roads and only stops at places where it is legal and safe to park — never on road shoulders or in tunnels. The aurora is a natural phenomenon and can never be guaranteed.
Do you provide child seats?
Tell us the number and ages of children when you request a quote, and we'll confirm what we can provide for that trip.
How much luggage can we bring?
Let us know the number of suitcases, skis or sports bags when you book. For airport transfers with full luggage we plan the vehicle size so everyone and everything fits.
How do we pay?
Payment details and due date are stated on the written quote. Businesses, schools and associations can ask for an invoice.
Are your drivers licensed for passenger transport?
Yes. Our drivers hold the professional licences required for the vehicle they drive, and they are local to Tromsø and used to winter driving.
How far will you drive?
Most trips are in the Tromsø region, Lyngen, Senja and Sommarøy, but we consider longer routes too. Drivers' working-hours rules decide how long a single day can be, so very long trips may need a second driver or an overnight stop.
Can the driver wait while we are at an event or activity?
Yes. Waiting time is included in the quote — tell us your programme and we plan the day around it.
